September 12, 2008 - 10:22 PM Back Home !!!!! Hi there, Vagabond Granny here, I finally arrived back in Myakka City, yesterday, 9-11 after a few soggy rides on the way back.. My final mileage is 7,748 door to door.. It was a blast, met alot of nice people, saw some beautiful parts of the country for the second time, but very in depth this time and certainly enjoyed those times. Learned alot about these areas and their history as well so in all it was a learning experience as well. I also enjoyed some time with my grandkids and that was enlightening and enjoyable. You certainly learn more about them on a daily one on one encounter than just an ocasional phone call. They seemed to grow physically in the month I was with them. I am learning to love this new dog I acquired when I was on the road. This is rural living for sure and animals are often "dumped" out here so Lucy arrived several months ago and lived in the woods and under my sons front porch. She is a southern cur dog(which actually is an american breed)but is a mix with something else, we are not sure what. She was injured, skinny, and obviously in need of attention. My son took her to the vet, who said she is about a yr old and will be the most loyal dog you would ever want.. she finally warmed up to me yesterday and now is very warmed up to me, wants to sleep with me etc.. well, we should have called her "shredder" as she has torn up every bit of paper I had laying around(I am not a good housekeeper)so I am still trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together as I find various bits and try to remember what they might be from. It is her nap time right now so she looks very angelic... I am sure we will sort out her bahavior asap but she is certainly adding to the homecoming.. I have a potential tv interview as soon as I get settled, but for now am trying to go through the mtns of mail and just getting back into my routine and being home again... I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated all your continuing tracking of my progress and hope I have made my tour interesting for you. I certainly hope and pray I have been able to help some people in this endeavor as that certainly was and still is my intention. My brochures go with me everywhere and I will continue to hand them out to get the word out that help is available if they need it or someone they know needs help. It has been a wonderful oportunity for me and hope it has been successful. Until my final video blogs, this Vagabond Granny signing off... (out in the woods here I dont get a strong enough wifi signal to send the video until I go into the city so bear with this reg blog for now..) | Tucker's StoryMy Grandmother had breast cancer - the fact that she had it puts me at a higher risk. When I felt a lump in my breast, I didn't want to deal with it and prayed that it would just 'go away.' God didn't make it disappear, but He did send me an angel. Call or Click |
