May 27, 2008 - 11:41 PM Happy Memorial Day Well, missed the first parade in Hemock, they changed the time to 30 min earlier, but then went to Honeoye and saw a great parade..reallly a good one, lots of people, groups, fire engines you name it. The service afterwards at the town gazebo was beautiful. It reminded you of ones you had atteneded as a kid. I also learned the Memorial Day was started way back in 1866 in Waterloo Ny, by the locl druggist there but Waterloo was not named the official birthplace of Memorial Day until 100yrs later my LBJ in a proclamation. I also learned the poppies we assosiate with veterans actually are a symbol of those growning in Flanders Field. When soil was turned over, hibernating poppy seeds grew and bloomed, thus the poppies of Flanders Field were soon to commemerate the fallen soldies. I also did a short interview with a reporter from the daily messenger, a very small local newspaper. Gave her my brochure and she was going to pass my info on to another gal who covers that type of human interest or unusual mission types of stories so we shall see. | Victoria's StoryI have little faith in conventional doctors and THANK THE DEAR LORD each day for bringing Dr. Bowmen & and my other caretakers (Kitty & Sherry) at Harford Holistic Center to me. Obviously your grant made that possible for me.... Call or Click |
