May 28, 2008 - 1:12 PM More Adventures! Boy, had a whirlwind day.. went to pick up a friend who BJworked on grants with. her name was Carol and had a lot of fun. Jim went along too. We went to this huge 5 and 10 cent store called Vidlers... it is like many stores along the sidewalk of this bldg, you just wandered through the stores, could spend at least 2 hrs in there.. well, we had found out the Roycroft Museum did not open for the year until 1 June and was only open Wed, Fri an Sat. Well BJ knew where it was, so we decided to go by it anyway..well, in front there was a phone number to call for private tours so for a lark we called that number and the man rode his bike over and we had a private tour for $5 a head.!!!! Very interesting man; he actually started out a printing company, then ended up in mission style furniture and all kids of things, similar to Frank Lloyd Wright. This guy also penned the message to Garcia which was later used as employee manual in several large co. to tell employess how they should act etc. Anyway, did get a copy of that, was most interesting..then it was almost 4 by then, we had to drop off carol, get back home, get the UBCF stuff packed on my trike and ride to Motor Maid meeting. Luckily it was only 13 miles back from the way we had just come. We had a good meeting, and I was able to give my talk(only 8 there). One had lost her Mom to breast cancer so it was a very attentive and supportive group.. she even bought a shirt. Just about all of them are going to americade for at least one or 2 days so are going to look me up...
That is it for now! :-) | Joann's StoryThis was the first time in my life (63 yrs. old) when I found myself without a job - no income and no health insurance. Shortly after, I noticed a 'lump' on my breast. Call or Click |
