At Honda Hoot!

I am in Knoxville, TN  for the Honda Hoot..The weather is beautiful although getting hotter as we go along, at least the humidity is not real high.  Some of the folks are going on tours today, even a factory tour of the Bush Bean factory so that should be interesting. It has been sold out for at least a month so must be a good visit. I wonder if the dog from the ads will be there as well, can check on that later when I talk with some of people who were lucky enought to get tickets. The rally has something planned for every day and evening as well it seems. Many go on the road tours, some will go down to do the tail of the dragon, which is a road with 318 curves in 11miles.. I did that one last fall, it is an event to do once in your riding lifetime I am sure, beautiful scenery and lots of exercise.. They have had many accidents on that run in the past so the speed limit of 30 mph is being really enforced now which is good. There is a double yello line throughout the whole ride so no passing is enforced and that usually is not easy for the sports bikes especially.

The vendor area is good, you can find all the bells and whistles to add on to bikes and drop alot of money there.. I found vendors from Ill. , just acrosss the river from St.Louis from where I used to get parts from.

This motel is a good one, has the cont. breakfast and a laundry room for guests which helps alot.

I will be leaving here Sat. a.m. since the next rally in Davis, WV starts on Mon.  That will be a hard ride as there are more twisties once you leave the interstate. On most of my touring I try to use the secondary roads but in the mountains I stick to interstates for less curves..

Well, this will bring you up to date.I have been able to put brochures and pins and key rings out in the hotel lobby and talk to folks as they chill out here later in the day or in the morning during breakfast.  I  have hardly talked with anyone who has not had breast caner be a part of their lives or their families so most will listen eagerly.   Will take those to the vendor area today as well.

Will sign off for today, thanks to all who keep checking on me. I am doing the best I can to get the word out on early detection and how important it is.

Till next time, this Vagabond Granny signing off... Thanks for all your support and of course United  Breast Cancer Foundation for their support in the entire adventure... Martha, aka vagabond granny
