Rally in Davis, West Virginia

Hello Everyone!

The rally, is the Motorcycle Touring Association.  We know almost everyone and it is open to all brands of bikes.

This rally has only about 100 bikes, wonderful small group, all friends, and  many here have not missed one of these rallies since they started in the late 1980's/  really good old friends..

I did got to reg this a.m.(Monday) & sold 3 shirts between there and parking lot..then the bike games began(almost an hour late though)but wanted to get a good picture of them.

"The Clothes Pin Game":  The biker rides as slow as possible along a clothes line with clothespins on it.. the passenger has to remove as many clothes pins she can AND THEN REATTACH THEM FURTHER DOWN THE LINE.  This does take alot of skill and the winner can probably only get 3 or 4 reattached as this line is only about 30 ft long. Of course the driver cannot put his feet down and driving this slowly really requires alot of skill..

They have other field events like slow ride, balance on the board, stop at certain point etc.  They also have a ballon toss where the psgr has to toss a water filled baloon over a rope they keep raising, and catch it as they pass under the rope, without bursting the balloon...Many drivers get baptised in the process.

We are having our general meeting tonight  and will finish poker runs (you ride a prescribed route and pick up beads at various designated places along the route. when you get back to the rally you pick a card for each bead you have gathered and that is your poker hand. The highest hand wins.

Many are out on rides now.. We had a good breakfast buffet this a.m here at the lodge, a bit pricey but very complete.

Tomorrow will be more activites and packing up to move on.  This has been fun as usual,  amd have given out alot of literature and sold shirts for donations.  I am so hoping that some of these brochures will get into the hands of ladies who need to take care of their health and have been putting off screening.  Most folks seem very interested in my story and cause so I am hopeful  a life can be saved through early detection as a result of this tour.
