June 30, 2008 - 8:53 PM In Indiana! Hello to all my faithful followers. I arrived in Dunkirk,IN in a driving rainstorm on Sat. I had ridden from Dayton,OH. to the Indiana border under gray skies, but the heavens opened and baptised me many times in the next 3 hrs.! The exit I needed to take was closed, so I got off at the next exit and found there were no detours or signage to let me know how to get back to the other exit ; consequently, I wantered around rather aimlessly in Amish country for the next hour at least. Finally, I pullled out the GPS and it did show me where I was , but about that time a nice farmer pulled up in a truck and told me where i needed to go to find gas and route 27.. Gas stations are not very plentiful in Amish country!!!! :-)
Well, I found my friend's house and finally dried off; she has a nice garage so my trike and trailer are really happy. Sun night we attended her friends non-denominational church for their monthly pot luck dinner and service. The 31st. proverb was the discussion for the evening and it was quite interesting and enlightening.
Mon. this new found friend named Sally, took me over to her parents who live in Portland, IN to see her Dad's old cars. What a sight that was! Fords from the late 20,s and early 30,s, and all in show condition.

Then we had a wonderful bowl of home made bean soup that was delicious. Dinner is in the crock pot for tonight. This new found friend Sally, works for the mexican foods division of Tyson, the chicken folks. She works the 3rd shift and makes taco shells all night, most of which are shipped to Taco Bell!

Thanks for following my progress.. Vagabond Granny,,till next time. Next rally a week from today, less than 200 miles from here.. | Joann's StoryThis was the first time in my life (63 yrs. old) when I found myself without a job - no income and no health insurance. Shortly after, I noticed a 'lump' on my breast. Call or Click |
