Rosa's StoryRosa is a 75 year old retired care-provider with a history of cancer. Twenty years ago, in her native country of Honduras, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and, as a result, had a hysterectomy, as well as the removal of both ovaries and fallopian tubes. A few years ago, Rosa moved to Los Angeles to live with her daughter, Carla. Despite Rosa’s good health, Carla wasted no time bringing her to Venice Family Clinic to have a full work-up, including a mammogram. Rosa and Carla came together to Venice Family Clinic so each could get their annual mammogram. They know preventive care is important and have made it part of their lives. Rosa explains her pro-activeness, "I am not nervous, even with my history of cancer. I’ve learned, with time, that worrying about what may happen will not make me happy. I’d rather have my check-up than just wonder." | Sioux's StoryI have always been fastidious about getting an annual mammogram. Both of my grandmothers had breast cancer - one for the first time around 1949, when technology is not what it is today. Call or Click |
