UBCF donated thousands of Pink Bags loaded with gifts to Breast Cancer patients and survivors nationwide

UBCF and Brookfield Properties collaborated for the second consecutive year to support breast cancer patients and survivors at Pink Bag Events across the country this past October. Event attendees received beautifully curated Pink Bags filled with gifts delivering joy and hope. The two organizations worked together for months to plan 20 events where thousands of patients and survivors were celebrated.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and men can develop breast cancer too. While that information is shocking, there is hope. When detected early and localized, there is a 99% survival rate. Events like the UBCF Brookfield Pink Bag Events raise awareness and bring hope to many. Often during and after treatment, funds are so tight and people are unable to purchase anything other than the bare necessities. A Pink Bag full of gifts delivers a ray of sunshine to someone who may be struggling. Katie, an event attendee shared, “Wonderful gifts! I love all of the beauty products and perfume!! The socks are so cute and I love the leopard slippers. Thank you so much!”
Brookfield Properties is a retail real estate company that operates over 130 shopping centers throughout the United States. Through this collaboration, Brookfield Properties provided space in 20 of their locations to conduct UBCF Pink Bag Events®. During the events, Pink Bags were gifted to breast cancer patients and survivors and include items such as beautiful cosmetics and makeup brushes, jewelry, cozy socks, headwraps, soap and more. They also contain promo items such as lip balm, hand sanitizer, and educational brochures.
Beth Reichart, UBCF’s Director of Operations shared, “UBCF appreciates working with Brookfield Properties. Every member of their team is dedicated to making this collaboration the best that it can be in service of women and men touched by breast cancer.” Reichart continued, “We want to make sure patients and survivors know UBCF is here. Gifting Pink Bags full of fun goodies and useful items helps to lift spirits. Little things can make a big difference.”
UBCF provides financial support to breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families through various patient and family programs. UBCF programs include breast screenings, breast reconstruction, the Audrey B. Mastroianni college scholarship, individual grants, holistic care, and child sponsorship. Additionally, UBCF’s Network of Giving program provides those in need with tangible and useful, high quality gifts such as mattresses, personal care products and clothing.
